My Media Designer | Founder
Welcome to MyMediaDesigner, the work of Brian Schwab, a seasoned multimedia designer with a passion that spans over two decades. Hailing from the city of San Jose, California, Brian’s artistic voyage started in 1998 when he embarked on a Multimedia Design course at Central County Occupational Center. This initial step would lead him into a lifelong love affair with graphic design and storytelling.
Brian’s introduction to the suite of Adobe products marked a pivotal turning point as he encountered Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Premiere. These tools not only kindled his creative spark but also enabled him to manifest his imaginative concepts into tangible works of art. The days of desktop publishing were represented by Pagemaker and Quark Express, relics of the past that laid the foundation for the cutting-edge capabilities of today’s Adobe InDesign.
After graduating with a BFA in Digital Media from San Jose State University’s prestigious Cadre Program, Brian’s academic journey was a fusion of curiosity, creativity, and an insatiable thirst for uncharted design horizons. A clear purpose emerged – to empower businesses, both large and small, with the transformative potential of multimedia design.
His path took an exciting turn as he embraced the role of an educator at San Jose’s Western Career College. Over a span of seven enriching years, he ascended to the position of Program Director for the Graphic Design department. Here, he crafted an entire curriculum, a comprehensive 14-month program that introduced students to the intricacies of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Video Production, and Website Design.
Western Career College evolved into Carrington College, finding its place within the DeVry education network. Adapting to change’s winds, Brian embarked on a new chapter – that of a freelance designer servicing the Bay Area. Armed with a diverse portfolio, he partnered with numerous businesses, infusing life into their marketing campaigns through a seamless blend of web, print, and video production.
Beyond his design pursuits, Brian remains a family man at his core. Happily married with two daughters, he resides in the city of Gilroy, California, and enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. He enjoys playing the guitar, listening to reggae, and playing Bocce. Contact Brian today to work on your next project.
